One bike was recorded with the serial# 0502695 (7-Digit) with Fiberglass Fenders, all the other bikes in this series have 6-Digit numbers. The fiberglass fenders were on early bikes, but the extra digit is unexplained.
SSScat I St. 2300-001 Sach 1,500 to 2,000
Screamer 2326-001 500
Whisker Hard Tail 2328-001 1,500
J-2602 Prowler 3,500
One bike was reported to have a serial number starting with 23 instead of 22. If this is true, then add another 1,000, but the owner may have read it wrong because it has a Sachs engine starting with 673 and the year of 1971.
J-2603 Ramrod 5,000 (This number has not been confirmed and is likely more like 500, NOT 5,000)
Back in the mini-bike days, it was not uncommon for a company to run more serial numbers than they actually built bikes. Companies may have done this to borrow money. There is no proof that Arctic Cat did this. It is therefore impossible to know for sure just how many bikes were produced.
Hi, tried a bit of searching, but not sure how to word it so it just comes up with every thread containing something w/serial numbers.
There a few organizations, such as Indian River Sports Center and VinFreeCheck, that offer free VIN decoding services for Arctic Cat snowmobiles.
